Feb. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- Goldsboro – STRATEGIES Empowerment Group will be the presenters for the Financial Literacy Series, Understanding Your Financial Puzzle which will be the first workshop offered in the series to begin on February 26 at 10:00 AM at RBPCDC, 2105 N William Street, Goldsboro, NC.  STRATEGIES Empowerment Group is dedicated to helping our community reach their goals by providing services designed to empower families. They specialize in training in Financial Empowerment; Wealth Building; Organization Empowerment; Small Business Empowerment; Personal/Goal Empowerment; and Youth Empowerment.

“Our goal with this series of financial literacy workshops  is to offer education and empowerment tools to help our community members become financially literate and able to prosper even in these tough economic times. STRATEGIES Empowerment Group has a proven record of helping low to moderate income families understand and apply sound financial principles to make informed life changing financial decisions.  We look forward to them doing the same thing here in Wayne County.”, said John E. Barnes, C.E.O.

The first workshop, “Think, Act and Grow RICH! “ will offer the attendees goal development  tools that teach them to step outside of your comfort zone. Participants will create their own S.M.A.R.T.E.R. financial goals and devise a “Success Plan” through fun, interactive activities.  The topics to be covered are: Dare2Dream; S.M.A.R.T.E.R. Financial Goal Development; Goal/Object Identifier Activity.  The second in the series, “Puttin’ the BLING in Your Budget” answers two questions: Why is creating a budget so important? and How can you budget nothing? In theses challenging times, many of us think that money is so tight there is no reason to budget because as soon as it comes in it goes out. Learn how to creatively stretch those dollars and even have some left over to save! The topics for this session are: Keepin’ It Real; T.S.P.; Consistency Counts; and a Budget Creation Activity.  This session will take place on March 12 at 10:00am.

There are three other topics in the series to include a family financial workshop for all of the family members, even the children, to attend and learn together.  The dates and details for these sessions will be announced as they approach.

Each session is three hours and requires a $10.00 pre-registration fee ($15.00 at the door). Because seats are limited, pre-registration by February 21st  is strongly suggested.
