HomeNetection was born when our founder conducted a scan of his recently installed high speed internet service. The result came back that he had a port open. He called the Internet Service Provider and politely requested that they close the port on the ISP provided modem. They complied, he tested and verified that they indeed did do what he requested. A few months later, being the security professional he was, he did another scan of his modem. After finding the same port open again, he took the necessary steps with the ISP and then set a monthly reminder to perform a scan check.
