Are you planning for college and thinking about a student loan?  If so, you’ll want to watch this important ‘Money 411’ series on ‘The Balancing Act’.  Etta Money, president of InCharge® Debt Solutions joins the show to offer viewers some important tips before signing on the dotted line.  Tune in February 23rd at 7:00 a.m. (ET/PT) as they air on Lifetime Television.

InCharge® Debt Solutions offers credit counseling, debt management services and educational initiatives.  In this edition of the ‘Money 411’ series, InCharge® Debt Solutions focuses on understanding all facets of a student loan.

Etta says, “You really have to be careful in looking at loans and how much to accept, otherwise there can be pretty severe financial consequences later.  Appearing on The Balancing Act will help us further our mission to educate consumers about understanding the full scope of a student loan”.

An important tip from Etta is that she recommends to never accept more money than what you actually need-- or you could find yourself graduating with $200,000 in student loans.  “Big loans might sound great up front, but there are some important things to consider.  Look at the career you are pursuing; how much do you really need for tuition and books; and anything over the basics-- is too much”.

If you have already graduated and are experiencing problems in paying the loan back, a free credit counseling session is always a good start for any type of debt problem.  It can offer a better understanding of your options and how to improve your financial situation.  Non-profit organizations like InCharge® Debt Solutions help educate students about debt problems.

Doug Campbell, founder and executive VP of programming for The Balancing Act, said, “Having Etta Money on The Balancing Act brings yet another great solution to viewers, one that will have a real impact, and help them balance their lives. This is the essence of solutions-based programming, and we are proud that we could bring the message and resources of InCharge® Debt Solutions to our viewers.”
