The San Antonio Chapter of the National Association of Professional Organizers sponsored a Clear Your Clutter Day for local non-profits.

Feb. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- The San Antonio Chapter of the National Association of Professional Organizers sponsored a Clear Your Clutter Day on Saturday, January 22, 2011.  The event was held in the Goodwill parking lot of their Bitters/281 location.

Members of NAPO San Antonio, who are professional organizers serving San Antonio and the Hill Country, collected household donations for Goodwill, eyeglasses for the Founders Lion Club, and cell phones for the Battered Women's Shelter of Bexar County.  Pinnacle Shredding provided one free box of shredding per car and charged a nominal fee for anything over that amount.

"January is the perfect time to have this event because it's National Get Organized Month.  Folks are ready to clear out their homes and get their papers ready for tax season.  This was a wonderful way for people to get organized and help others at the same time," said Helene Segura, a Certified Professional Organizer® and owner of LivingOrder® San Antonio, the premier efficiency and productivity consulting firm in San Antonio.  Segura is also the Founding Director of Communications and Technology for NAPO San Antonio.

"We estimated that 100 cars came through during the four hour event.  We're very happy with the turnout and excited about all of the donations," stated Julie Vera, who is a part of Goodwill San Antonio's marketing team.

Goodwill is helping to change lives through the power of work.  Each year, Goodwill provides employment services to nearly 50,000 San Antonio-area individuals who face employment challenges. In addition to operating eight Job Help Centers in San Antonio, New Braunfels, Seguin, Laredo and surrounding areas, Goodwill operates two Good Careers Academies and handles almost 40 contracts for services in the public and private sector.  Donations to Goodwill fund these programs.

The National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) is a group of about 4,200 professional organizers dedicated to helping individuals and businesses bring order and efficiency to their lives. Their vision is to have the world recognize the value of organizing and turn to NAPO as the leading organizing authority. Their mission is to develop, lead, and promote professional organizers and the organizing industry.  Members of the local San Antonio chapter of NAPO are professional organizers and Certified Professional Organizers® who service the San Antonio metro area and the Hill Country.  Information about NAPO San Antonio can be found at www.NAPOSanAntonio.com.
