By: dnqtravel Itinerary: Luang Prabang - Nam Ming - Don Mo - Luang Prabang We depart from our Office in Luang Prabang for a transfer to our rafting starting point at the village of Ban Nam Ming, about 2 hours drive south of Luang Prabang. The Nam Ming River makes its way through a steep sidedRafting on Nam Ming & Nam Khan river of Laos forested valley. Its riverbanks are covered with dense forest, often consisting of old trees - the ideal habitat for a wide variety of birds. There are some fun rapids before the Nam Ming feeds into the Nam Khan. In the afternoon, we get to a beautiful spot with cold springs, perfect for bathing and relaxing. We then spend more time for paddling, passing villages set in a landscape featuring rugged limestone mountains. The trip ends when we reach Ban Done Mo, where a pick-up awaits us for transfer to Luang Prabang. Approximately: Option 2: 2 days trip Relaxing along the Nam Ming river Day 1: Luang Prabang - Nam Ming - Khon Wai We depart from our in Luang Prabang for a transfer to our rafting starting point at the village of Ban Nam Ming, about 2 hours drive south of Luang Prabang. We spend the night in the nearby village of Ban Khon Wai, set in a landscape featuring rugged limestone mountains. Approximately: Day 2: Khon Wai - Xieng Ngeun - Tad Sae - Luang Prabang After breakfast, we paddle to the Tad Sae Waterfall. Its limestone cascades with florescent blue pools in between the trees offer a stunning sight. After lunch, there is time for swimming at Tad Sae. We return by Tuk Tuk on a journey back to Luang Prabang. Approximately: * Note: The Rivers are very low and much slower towards the end of the dry season. The best time for kayaking and rafting is from June to December. These are also the best months for visiting Tad Sae. * What to bring: Hat, sun-screen, swim suit and sarong for bathing, clothes/shoes to get wet, mosquito repellent, warm change of clothes for the evening * Included: Water, meals, English speaking guide, accommodation and transport.
