Frack Attack - A Love Song to the World

Feb. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- The energy swirling around the globe from the successful overthrow of Egypt's despot Mubarek is intoxicating, vindicating, and ultimately exciting! And with love in the air, we can fuse those elements and create a revolution of love for all basic human rights.... but perhaps, most importantly - fresh water. It's time for the world to unite to protect the fresh water we have, by standing up to the atrocious practice of Hydraulic Fracturing, a.k.a. Hydro Fracking, a.k.a Fracking.

To this end, Meg Montgomery - musician, activist, educator - has written and produced a song called Frack Attack, as a way to bring people around the world together and give the power to make a difference. The first version of Frack Attack is available to the public on Valentine's Day - February 14, 2011 - and will be available to musicians around the world to remix. All versions will be sold on www.frack-attack.com and proceeds will be donated to three outstanding organizations that have created a solid foundation of learning and action in the (as yet) successful hydrofracking fight in New York. As regions around the world begin their own fights against the frackers, we hope they will draw on the experience that has been gained in the past few years by these amazing organizations.

Frack Attack is Music with a Purpose. It was written and produced by Meg Montgomery, who continues her 15 year collaboration with chantuese Mem Nahadr ("I Found God in Myself - Ntozake's Song) and James P. Nichols (Grammy award winning sound engineer) in this song. In addition, she brings into the mix the fresh sound of a five piece freejazz horn section, including four saxes -  Nick Gianni, Daniel Carter, Sabir Mateen, Ras Moshe - and a trumpet - Meg Montgomery. Additional musicians are Doug Principato on guitar, Emmallyea Swon-Young on vocals, and Dan Walsh on djembe.
