Feb. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- Diesel Truck Driver Training School has new classes beginning in February in both their Basic CDL (Commercial Driver's License) and the Complete CDL courses.

The Basic CDL Program offers a combination of classroom and practical training in basic truck driving skills. These skills include pre-trip inspections and close quarter manoeuvres such as coupling, uncoupling and backing up.

Diesel Truck Driver Training School's experienced instructors demonstrate the skills required and explain the importance of each aspect of the course in real-world terms. The educational development process emphasizes safety and efficiency, while giving students the necessary hands on experience to help them feel confident and prepared behind the wheel.

The objective of the Basic CDL course is for the student to pass the State road test and obtain their Class-A Commercial Driver's License.
Students can choose one of two class schedules based on their preference. The Basic program is available as a two week program from Monday to Friday from 6am to 4:30 pm beginning February 7 and February 28. The program also runs on a five weekend schedule which runs from 6am to 4:30pm Saturday and Sunday for five consecutive weekends starting February 26.

The Complete CDL program runs for four weeks from Monday to Friday, 6am to 4:30pm, beginning February 14. The Complete Program covers the entire Basic Program as well as safe operation of equipment, the importance of logbooks, transporting hazardous materials, and close quarters manoeuvres.

Students who pass the Complete Program will receive all licensing permits, endorsements and be eligible to attempt the CDL road test. Upon successful completion of the road test, the students will be qualified for an entry level position in the truck driving industry.

The trucking industry comprises just over 500,000 trucking companies in the United States and employs approximately 8.9 million people. Trucks deliver almost 70% of all freight transported in the U.S., representing $671 billion worth of goods annually.
