PRLog (Press Release) -
Feb. 14, 2011 - This spring, May 19-23, 2011 join Compassion Over Killing and Green Earth Travel as the two groups team up to sponsor a very special vegan-friendly “vegcation”
destination weekend.
Departing from Bethesda and traveling by bus, “vegcationers”
will arrive approximately 6 hours later at Woodstock Farm Sanctuary, located in the beautiful Catskill mountains in upstate New York. While at the famous farm animal sanctuary, volunteers will have 2 fabulous days to groom, feed, and socialize with the many rescued cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, goats & sheep. After a hard day’s work, guests are treated to scrumptious vegan meals.
Following the memorable meeting of the sanctuary animals—among who include a chicken named Henna who was found wandering the streets of Queens, NY, and Elvis, a calf that was once destined to become veal—the group will depart for NYC and explore the many vegan-friendly dining and shopping options in the Big Apple. “Vegcationers”
will be invited to take a walking tour of several vegan shopping locations, including the famous all-vegan shoe store Mooshoes. And after working up an appetite, the group will meet at Candle 79 for a gourmet vegan dinner before heading to the Murray Hill Suites Hotel.
At just $1,109 per person, this delightful 4 night, 5 day “vegcation”
which includes all lodging costs and most meals, as well as donations to both Compassion Over Killing and Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary is the perfect way to enjoy a compassionate spring-time getaway.
