Feb. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Dublin, Ireland: Irish mobile internet services company Digital Reach Group (DRG) today announced significant growth in its mobile business over the past twelve months, driven by a boom in mobile advertising. Some 52 million adverts a month are being served on its mobile advertising network, Adforce.ie – a ten-fold increase on a year ago.  Last month BBC.com was announced as a new customer, following DRG’s successful win of BBC.com’s advertising contract for Ireland.

The announcement was made as the company exhibits at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona for the second year running, as part of the Enterprise Ireland delegation.

The company is now embarking on an international expansion plan through strategic partnerships with companies focused on the mobile advertising sector

According to CEO Colm Grealy, DRG’s strong performance reflects the accelerating demand for mobile services from a range of organisations including media companies, mobile operators, brand owners and advertising agencies.

“DRG has quickly and very successfully carved a niche for itself in Ireland by meeting the needs of organisations looking to develop effective mobile strategies that generate revenue,” said Grealy. “Not only do we have the expertise to develop apps, mobile websites and mobile response campaigns but we are in the unique position to be able to commercialise these through our highly successful mobile advertising network.”

He added: “We believe this business model can be replicated successfully in other countries and are actively identifying partners to expand our business into international markets.”

Significant developments for DRG over the past 12 months include:

-      Adding BBC.com to its advertising network DRG was awarded the exclusive advertising sales contract for BBC.com in Ireland, covering sales across BBC.com’s web and mobile sites as well as its iPhone and iPad apps, reaching 1.5 million unique users in Ireland.

-      Partnering with Ireland’s national broadcaster RTE to deploy and commercialise its mobile services. RTE’s ‘News Now’ iPhone app recently reported 200,000 downloads in less than 12 months and won the Grand Prix at Ireland’s first dedicated mobile app awards, beating 170 other mobile app entries.

-      Launching QR codes in Ireland through an exclusive contract with US company Scanlife. Thanks to DRG, in January Ireland ranked for the first time in Scanbuy’s Top 10 countries that scan mobile barcodes.

-      Expanding its advertising network to include Ireland’s leading media and entertainment companies These include RTE Publishing, RTE Radio, Today FM, 98FM, Newstalk and Xtra-vision.
