Feb. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Those of us aspiring to develop ourselves further, don't have to give up at the first hurdle. Design enthusiasts who want to build on their creative talents can flex those fingertips by opting for a unique way of learning.

The traditional degree route has always been  studying at college or university, although increasingly many are choosing distance learning, or home studying as it's also known.  The National Design Academy, based in Nottingham,  specialises in Interior Design distance learning courses,  and is a great alternative route for existing "self taught" interior designers wanting to gain a formal qualification.

Established for twenty-two years by Director Pauline Riley, The National Design Academy offer Diploma to Degree level courses and provide the UK's only distance learning BA (Hons) in Interior Design.  With over 1300 students and growing,  the NDA are renowned for offering a credible route to higher education.

As well as being considerably cheaper than other university courses, students studying at the NDA have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and on the job training along side their studies. Students can earn, develop, network  and gain great employer references. This factor is important and can improve a students chance of success within the industry.

Students have more control and flexibility when choosing distance learning, and at The National Design Academy, you can take a break between qualifications, for example,  after completing the Foundation Degree in Interior Design, there is no time limit in which you must move onto the BA course. There's the option to work or gain more experience in between and you can choose a suitable start date.

The thought of distance learning can be scary and many may be concerned about the level of support they would receive during a course. The National Design Academy  have a team of tutors on hand by phone or -email,  ready to offer the best support possible. Not only this, but there are student discussion forums, Facebook and Twitter to get additional advice.

All their course material is provided through an online  bespoke Virtual Learning Studio - "VLS", where students can upload work, access various modules and contact their tutor for feedback.

This alternative route of further and higher education is becoming more popular as many people are worried about the debt faced by current graduates. But it's also a fantastic path for the creative amateur who want the gratification of making their talents official.
