Feb. 13, 2011 - PRLog -- Green buildings become very influential and more on demand because of its sustainability, cost-efficiency and ecological friendly. However, some builders and owners still associate green with higher added cost along with more complexity to achieve a certified code-built house which probably costs $3,300 to be certified. This is fortunately unnecessary since building green does not always have to be on rocket science.

According to Steve Bertasso, senior associate at True North Development, entry-level green buildings can be equally compatible with code-built buildings efficiency and performance with even less cost. Steve suggested four practical strategies for going green without breaking the bank at the 2011 International Builders’ Show to all attended builders as following:

Reducing the amount of waste:
Everything you throw in the dumpster can cost a little more money. Remember once every tiny pieces of unlikely useable material putting together, the cost you waste in each dumpster can be surprisingly multiple. Make sure you make precise measurements before ordering and make a well-plan before starting your construction. Most of added costs and high-waste often come from miscalculating and material wasted.

Having effective operational system:
Related to former strategy, having an effective operational system can save both waste and budget. Make sure you have well-organized plans and clarified systems in organization as well as communication, a little error can add up unnecessarily money.

Establish cost-effective materials:
Many people still related green efficiency with costly, it can be true in some certain extents but not always. There are many green materials and furniture cost just little money compared with traditional building materials. With high technology, green modular buildings offer multiple benefits including materials. The price is more favorable while the performance is also unquestionable. You just need to take time doing research and contact suppliers to get better cost-effective deals.

Reduce admin costs:
In your office and home, recycling is one of the most important easiest ways for greening. Be mindful about things you use especially papers, napkins and paper towels, our natural resources are in peril across the world. Using them unnecessarily means you are invading more trees and increasing higher level in global warming. Considering using electronic PO system instead of handwriting record will help reducing the use of papers, cost and avoid any nasty surprised incidents. Marketing on social Medias like Facebook, Twitters, YouTube, Blogs and etc instead of using big billboards, booklets or leaflets can shave pretty decent costs for advertising, plus it can reach more targets.

Following these simple well-planned strategies can help you save at least $3500 per unit without doing any papers, yet, still performs effective functions as code-built houses. Building green today is not just how to use resources efficiently while creating healthier products and environments, but it is also about long-term financial advantages and sustainability.
