Feb. 13, 2011 - PRLog -- Fat is the new thing: everyone’s doing it! Here’s some simple ways to hit a high score on the scales:

1. Avoid exercise at all costs: Why walk to the shops when you could drive? Why play with your children when you could plonk them in front of a video game whilst you watch TV. If you want to pile on the pounds stay away from exercise. The American College of Sports Medicine suggests that everyone should engage in 30 minutes of moderate intensity activity 5 times a week in addition to daily chores every day for a healthy lifestyle; increasing/ normalising your calorific expenditure to make up for sedentary lifestyles. Exercise is the ENEMY of fat-gain! This is no more true than with high intensity exercise which elevates your heart rate much higher than aerobic exercise. Calories are melted at a more extreme rate during and after training at higher intensities and WILL limit your ability to

2. Gobble gobble – eat what you like, when you like and as much as you like. The great thing is that society and food additives have conditioned us in to a state of addiction, that’s why it’s so easy to force that extra chocolate or extra pastie down even when you’ve had enough. Just one more is that fat arse’s mantra and is great for gaining those unwanted pounds and increasing your belly bulge. Another big plus for overall globulation of your person is that, contrary to popular belief, we don’t burn fat in certain areas by doing certain exercises. For example, tricep dips don’t skim the fat off your bingo wings in isolation – exercise utilises fat stores as one. Therefore as long as you pack in huge numbers of calories with lots of saturated fat you’ll be widening the doors in no time.

3. Make lots and lots of excuses. Committing to a healthier lifestyle and to a regular exercise regime is difficult – it takes determination and a will to change. Therefore it’s super easy to make excuses – scheduling cheat days and promising to “make up” for bad habits. Everyone has to work and everyone has their own life so it’s really easy to excuse yourself from your resolutions by blaming your shortcomings on them. This is especially useful if you’ve set yourself a deadline or have made a promise to someone else. They won’t think any less of you and you get away with not changing!

4. Set no goals and expect nothing from yourself, that way you won’t be disappointed. Having a goal is a sure-fire way to motivation and the will or even an inkling to change is dangerous if you want to hit the beach “Shamu-style”. Doing things on the fly without a plan, without any drive is great for inhibiting change. If you don’t want a summer in Six-Pack City or fit in to your new dress then don’t plan to achieve it.

5. Complain when the going get’s tough. Eventually people will lose faith in you and stop trying to help. Motivation that comes from within produces results to a much higher extend than anyone else cajoling or persuading you. If you have zero intrinsic motivation then do everything you can to remove external drive-producers. Whether it’s a husband, trainer, kids, parents or friends people will eventually stop trying so keep throwing up those road blocks. At the end of the day, your actions only affect you!

Weight gain is a simple intake: expenditure ratio. Aslong as you manipulate the variables effectively you can play santa with authentic padding this year!

Happy Heart Attacks…
