The Dance Zone 8 Year Anniversary - FREE Day of Dance Sat 2/26!

Feb. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- The Dance Zone ( www.inthedancezone.com ) was doing fusion classes LONG BEFORE shows like So You Think You Can Dance popularized them! In fact, most of their classes were actually created and launched in 2000 through the UT Informal classes program and then popularized on their award-winning TV show "SHUT UP & DANCE"!

The DZ opened in February 2003 with cutting-edge twists on all your favorite conventional dance styles combining Jazz with Hip-hop and adding acrobatic moves, doing Ballet in bare feet with their hair down and dancing to everything from Hip-hop to R&B and Rock. From Go-go aerobics to Stomp Down and Cardio Strip-hop the Dance Zone's been bringing you the best for 8 years and they want you to come, bring your friends and try it all out for FREE from 12-4pm Saturday Feb 26th ONLY!!!!! This is your chance to take some of those classes you've been wanting to try, take a friend you've been telling but couldn't get to go with you, tell someone who's been looking for a good class, go back if you haven't been on a while, expand your horizons with something you NEVER thought you'd try or go for the very first time!

PT2: Dance Zone dance team audition!! 4:30-6:30p

The festivities continue with a dance team audition for the DZ's FIRST EVER Dance Zone performance team! The owner LIZ Walter was the Artistic Director/Choreographer for the Austin Ice Bats dance team the Batgirls 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 and the Austin Toros Capital City Dancers 2005-2006, but they've never had one just for the Dance Zone!

Learn routines choreographed by one of Austin's hottest new Hip-hop choreographers, Alan Truong. Alan is a prior member of Texas' Best Dance Crew 2 time winners Redefined Dance Company. His own dance team Illovation won 1st place at the World of Dance Competition in Dallas last year and they also auditioned for America's Best Dance Crew this year. Alan was recently offered a Monsters of Dance scholarship to Debbie Reynolds studio in LA and is truly one of Austin's most amazing up-and-coming dance talents! So go see for yourself!

4:30-5:30 choreography
5:30-6 review
6-6:30 audition
