Stunner Baby Magazine - Kai Morae "Miss Apple Bottom 2011"

Feb. 11, 2011 - PRLog -- Kai Morae’s Apple Bottom by Claude Julian - Stunner Baby Magazine Quick News is very proud of the soaring success of Kai Morae’s modeling career. Kai is very dear to me since, I’ve had the pleasure in my Chicago roots in seeing her grow into a young adult. Kai Morae, daughter of Lisa Raye, is now the face for Nelly’s Apple Bottoms clothing line. Kai is the brand’s first plus size model.

The ad campaign was shot by Derek Blanks and will be featured on an upcoming episode of The Real McCoy. Lisa Raye has always strived to etch a sense of guidance, direction, and focus for Kai’s path through the Hollywood triangle.  I feel a great appreciation for the marketing and branding tool that Nelly’s Apple Bottoms clothing empire represents. Nelly is thinking outside the box in his selection of Kai’s curve-n-sassy figure that provides encouragement to all young ladies that aren’t quite a size 4. Bravo!

Kai states…
“I’m not a skinny girl; I’m a healthy child. With society nowadays, they make it seem like you have to be skinny, otherwise you’re not pretty. I feel like I can talk to most girls and let them know you can still have the confidence of a supermodel even though you’re not that size. If you have confidence, that will help you succeed in so many different areas of life; it’ll help you in your relationships, it’ll help you in your career, it’ll help you in your life and it just helps you all around.”

The images feature fashions from Nelly’s Apple Bottom’s Spring 2011 Collection.  Apple Bottoms started out in 2003 as a denim label designed specifically to fit the natural curves of African-American women.
