R & D Director of Martek Power Europe, awarded in France

Feb. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- Martek Power, a world leader in the design and manufacture of power supplies and converters, is pleased to announce that its Research and Development Director has received a medal from the Minister of Education and Research for his contribution to electrical engineering in France during the GENELEC Days.

To describe briefly the history of Genelec, we must go back to 1985 when the French electrical engineering was boosted with the creation by the Minister Mr Hubert Curien, of a multi Ministry mission. With more than 120 experts, it established a review of national resources and knowledge in this field and presented the possible developments in the short and medium term in order to make the French electrical engineering a leader in the European and even the worldwide scene. Twenty five years later, the conclusion is positive. The potential of research and development in universities and industry, has allowed France to reach a privileged place among the great world of electrical engineering.

The GENELEC Days, information and think-tank seminar, are held every 10 years to assess the situation and define the directions to follow.

It is the tradition at each GENELEC Days event to present a medal to those who contributed, through their activities, to the reputation of France in electrical engineering. For this third edition, Chairman of the Scientific Committee, Mr Michael Amiet, on behalf of Ms Valérie Pécresse, Minister of Education and Research, has awarded a medal to Alain Picard, R & D Director of Martek Power Europe.
