Mosquito Clothing Repellent Donations to Help Aid in the Prevention of Dengue Fever in Philippines

Feb. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- Henderson, NV, February 9, 2011 – CGF is seeking in-kind donations of clothing repellent that contains Permethrin which when used as a clothing/fabric pre-treatment has been determined to have effective repellency against mosquitoes. This means that mosquitoes will still swarm around a person, but will not land on treated clothing/fabrics and bite.

A global disease, dengue is currently endemic in more than 110 countries infecting 50-100 million people each year.  There is currently no CDC or WHO vaccines for the dengue virus; its prevention depends solely on control of and protection from the bites of the mosquito that transmits it.

In 2011, all Permethrin clothing repellent donations will be included in our distribution program –your contribution will provide a level of preventive treatment to South East Asian families who simply cannot afford them. Clothing repellent products that contain Permethrin include Sawyers Clothing Repellent Pump Spray and can be purchased in volume at any outdoor sporting good retail store such as REI, Bass Outlets, and Amazon.com market place to name a few.
