CFP® certification is deemed the gold-standard proof of expertise in the personal financial industry and distinguishes certified planners from their peers. UMSL’s exam prep course features the Certified Financial Planner–Board of Standards, Inc. (CFP-BOS) approval for the educational training, and is the only university in St. Louis with AACSB accreditation in both Business Administration and Accounting. The course uses the curriculum of the College for Financial Planning and covers all topics that the CFP-BOS requires.
This course is a prerequisite to success for those who want to differentiate themselves in the financial industry, such as accountants, CPAs, financial consultants and planners, HR professionals, insurance experts, bankers, trust officers, investment specialists, tax professionals, insurance advisers, benefit authorities, attorneys, and other individuals who deal in trusts, estates and other fiduciary matters.
Main courses of study include Financial Planning Process and Insurance, Investment Planning, Income Tax Planning, Trust and Estate Planning, Retirement Planning and Employee Benefits, and the Capstone Review. The program fee for all modules is $3,995, with a $100 discount if registering prior to Feb. 23, 2011. Individual modules can be attended for a fee of $895 each.
