Feb. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- Nature Air, a Central American airline for adventure travel, recently announced that it will start offering flights to Managua, Nicaragua, four times a week starting March 2nd from Liberia, Costa Rica. The US$100,000 investment will create 10 direct jobs and will transport its passengers on a Twin Otter Bi-motor plane, which includes navigation gear, GPS navigation and Terrain Awareness Systems, and large viewing windows that offer all passengers an unobstructed view of the sites.

“We saw Nicaragua as an important tourism destination that offers many attractions that complement the ones offered in Costa Rica. The adventure traveler has shown a great interest in visiting both destinations, and our goal is to facilitate this possibility, shortening the distance between the two countries, with Managua as the first destination in our plan for expansion.” commented Roberto Kopper, COO of Nature Air.

The airline plans to increase the frequency of their flights in the near future, and expects to add more Nicaraguan destinations including Ometepe Island and Corn Island. “These new flights will boost Nicaragua´s tourism by offering tourists the opportunity to visit some of the country´s most beautiful places and experience eco-tourism at its finest” commented Javier Chamorro, Executive Director of PRONicaragua, the official investment promotion agency of Nicaragua.

In the past year, Nicaragua has been making headlines as the new tourism hot-spot. According to the Central American Integration System (SICA, for its acronym in Spanish), the country has been experiencing the biggest increase in tourist arrivals and revenues in the region, offering visitors an excellent tourism experience at an affordable cost.

Nature air is the first airline in the world certified CO2 free. As part of their social corporate responsibility program, the airline is committed to compensate 100 percent of its CO2 emissions through the conservation of tropical forests in Costa Rica. Every flight contributes to the protection of the ecosystem.

Nature Air started in 1990, when two Alaska bush pilots founded Travel Air. In 2000, Travel Air was later bought by Naturegate and created what is today known as Nature Air. Nature Air has flown more than 250, 000 flights in Central America and more than 110,000 passengers in 2010.
