Farley Corporation has a better plan for youWhile there is much debate circling around the true number of uninsured Americans, the estimates are in the 46 million range. Fortunately for the low-income residents of over 30 counties in Michigan, there is now a real answer waiting for them.
By: Karen Cristino J.P. Farley Corporation, a leading third-party administration company based out of Northeast Ohio, has recently partnered with Lansing-based Health Plan Management Systems (HPMS) to provide access to health care for the indigent uninsured and lower income persons without private or public health insurance in 39 of the 82 counties in Michigan. “We are very pleased to be partnering with HPMS to provide these County Health Plans with quality administration services”, said Rob Bernath, Director of Business Development for J.P. Farley Corporation. “This is a market segment that as a company, we are very excited about being involved with. It’s a gratifying way to utilize our services and do what we do best to improve the situation for these Michigan residents.” J.P. Farley provides group employee benefits plans to over 100 clients in 32 states and the relationship forged with HPMS enables both organizations to further enhance how they service the needs of their clients and plan participants. Bernath continues, "We are looking forward to expanding our members in this market in the very near future. With our customized processes and solutions, we are able serve the needs of HPMS and its client plans in a very real, adaptable way. This partnership truly benefits all parties involved and we're excited to see where this can take us.” J.P. Farley's work with Health Plan Management Services is not its first experience with these types of plans, but the relationship with HPMS is particularly exciting because it comes with significant company growth in both staff and technology. Last quarter, J.P. Farley has increased its staff by 16% in various departments throughout the organization, including claims, enrollment, and information technology, to accommodate the additional 43,000 members it has added to its health plans beginning in January 2011. # # # J.P.
