World-renowned celebrity and best-selling author Suzanne Somers makes a return appearance on O2 Media’s hit morning TV show “The Balancing Act” to promote her new book Sexy Forever: How to Fight Fat after Forty!  Somers shares her knowledge on environmental toxins and how they not only cause cancer, but also undermine our efforts to stay thin and healthy.  The segment will air February 10th, at 7:00 am (ET/PT) on Lifetime Television.

According to Somers, the average person could encounter as many as 200 toxic substances before they even leave their house in the morning, from flame-retardant mattress chemicals to preservatives in our cosmetics and pesticides on our food.  As many as 80,000 toxins exist in our daily lives, and over time they can accumulate in the body and affect our health.  She recommends changing cleaning and eating habits to eliminate toxins and free the body from the incredible stress they put on its function.

“It’s more work now to be alive!” Somers says.  “You’ve got to protect yourself, and there are solutions.  Every change that you make will move you towards getting thinner and healthier.  The Balancing Act is a great opportunity to educate viewers about environmental toxins and show them how I’ve managed to avoid them over the years.”

In Sexy Forever, Somers reveals which common foods are heavily sprayed with chemicals, and which ones contain the least amount of toxins.  She also provides instructions on how to properly clean contaminants from food, as well as recipes for making healthy, chemical-free meals.  Her simple solutions are designed to relieve adults from the “toxic burden” they have accumulated throughout their lives and help them prevent weight gain and other more serious maladies like cancer.

“Our viewers love watching Suzanne on The Balancing Act,” says Doug Campbell, Founder and Executive VP of Programming for the show.  “This is the third time she has returned to share her knowledge about healthy eating and aging, and we are proud to bring this information to our viewers.”
