Shoes of all types are welcomed—as long as they are in great shape. Many people who donate shoes express concern that their dressy shoes will not be utilized by the residents of the shelters. Actually the exact opposite is true—fashionable shoes are a valuable commodity as they are worn by residents of shelters when going on job interviews when seeking employment.
This year the shoe drive runs from January 24 to February 4. The shoes are dropped off at my office and then distributed to homeless shelters and the Salvation Army. My office address is 1920 St. Andrews Dr., Seal Beach, 90740. For more information, please call 562 799-0656, or log into www.footpaincenter.com and click the link to “articles.”
