Mr. Joichi Ito has received recognition for his role as an entrepreneur focused on Internet and technology companies.  He is founder of several companies such as PSINet Japan, Digital Garage, Neoteny Co and Infoseek Japan. He is also board member and investor of several organizations. He was also ex. CEO of Creative Commons.
Creative Commons is a nonprofit organization and has released several copyright-licenses known as Creative Commons licenses, free of charge to the public. According to Creative Commons, the company has provided "institutional, practical and legal support for individuals and groups wishing to experiment and communicate with culture more freely”.
Joichi Ito’s ex.pro bono leadership as the CEO of Creative Commons has done an amazing job with the company.  During his time as CEO the company accomplished milestone adoptions like Wikipedia, Al Jazeera and The White House.
