Most Desired Gifts: The online poll asked GiftCardGirlfriend.com visitors to answer questions about gifts they would most like to receive this Valentine’s Day. When asked if gift cards are acceptable tokens of affection, 83% said, “Yes!” When asked what gift they would most like to receive this Valentine’s Day, they answered as follows:

30% - Sentimental gift like a handwritten note
29% - Gift card
23% - Traditional gift like flowers and chocolate
11% - Romantic gift like lingerie and candles
7% - Other (write-ins wanted both a gift card and a sentimental note)

Most Wanted Gift Cards: When asked what kind of gift card participants would most like to receive, clothing and accessory store gift cards topped the list. In order of popularity, participants picked the following:

1.   Clothing or Accessory store gift card
2.   Salon or Spa gift card
3.   Restaurant gift card
4.   Home and Garden store gift card
5.   Bank issued (“use anywhere”) gift card
6.   Entertainment gift card (e.g. movie, sports, travel)
