Feb. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- Recently, the cosmetic surgery community received important information regarding women with breast implants. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is currently investigating a rare potential association between breast implants and a rare form of lymphoma. Current recommendations are to follow up with a plastic surgeon if you are experiencing any symptoms of persistent swelling, pain and or lumps in the breast area. Currently, the FDA and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) are not recommending any prophylactic removal and/or treatment in asymptomatic patients; the FDA has also continued their approval of breast implants with appropriate breast surgery.
