Feb. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- Hundreds of South Florida’s most influential philanthropists, business people, and civic leaders will be transported back to their high school days at Miami Jewish Health Systems’ Platinum “Home”coming celebration on Saturday, March 26, 2011. This year’s ‘high-school homecoming’ themed gala event will mark the healthcare organization’s platinum (70th) anniversary of service to the community and the evolution of its identity from Miami Jewish Home and Hospital, a small nursing home founded in 1940, to a comprehensive healthcare system serving patients of all ages across South Florida. The event will take place at Miami’s Four Seasons Hotel, 1435 Brickell Avenue, at 7:00pm.

Guests at Miami Jewish Health Systems’ Platinum Homecoming will be immersed in the high school experience from the time they arrive at the Four Seasons Hotel, beginning with an opportunity to pose for professional ‘homecoming photos.’ A cocktail party and elaborate dinner reception will be reminiscent of classic high-school musicals such as Happy Days, Grease and Glee.  Attendees will dance the night away to the music of Libido, one of the most sought-after party bands in South Florida.

“Our Platinum Homecoming celebration will offer our supporters a chance to reflect on Miami Jewish Health Systems’ storied past and, more importantly, celebrate our bright future,” said Jeffrey P. Freimark, Chief Executive Officer of Miami Jewish Health Systems. “The homecoming theme will make this event unique among annual fundraisers and we are looking forward to a festive and memorable evening featuring fine food and drinks, first-rate entertainment, and great company.”

Those in attendance will have opportunities to purchase “class rings” and other fine jewelry by designer David Yurman and to purchase raffle tickets for a new Toyota Prius that has been generously donated by Toyota of South Florida.

“As a second-generation supporter of Miami Jewish Health Systems, I’m looking forward to celebrating its 70 years of providing quality and compassionate care to our community,” said Jane Kahn Jacobs, president of FOUNDERS, the philanthropic arm comprised of MJHS’ major benefactors.  “This year’s Platinum Homecoming Gala will be unlike any other event we’ve hosted in the past.  We invite the entire community to join us in supporting this surprise-filled evening benefiting South Florida’s most unique and indispensable healthcare organization.”

MJHS Platinum Homecoming tickets and sponsorships are now available, with David Yurman and Toyota of South Florida already signed on as corporate sponsors. Individual seats cost $300, with sponsorship levels beginning at $1,500. *Tickets for the Toyota Prius raffle cost $100 each, $500 for six, or $1000 for 13 – with the grand drawing to be held on May 5, 2011.
