Glenn, and his partner Andy Cattigan, are dedicated to recycling up to 75% of the waste the company collects, thereby reducing the burden placed on landfill whilst actively re-using and recycling wherever possible themselves. Their association with the Salvation Army further supports this desire to continuously improve their environmental performance.
Provision of this local amenity supplements the already extensive list of recycling and waste collection services provided by Waste King, which include house, garden and garage clearance, wait and load services, WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment) collections and SWMP (site waste management plans). The company also offers confidential document destruction.
Glenn commented “surprisingly this is pretty ground-breaking stuff for a waste management company, but we are now networked with a number of other very well established organisations across the UK that re-use and recycle. It benefits us all.”
Apparently the Salvation Army says that most clothes have at least 70% of their useful life left when the owner disposes of them, and the income it receives from its recycling activities helps to fund beds for the homeless, cups of tea for the thirsty and food for the hungry! We are delighted to be able to contribute to this work.
