Feb. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- ATLANTA, GA.– A Williams Entertainment Group in association with Native Sun Teleworks, LLC, are proud to present, STUBBORN AS A MULE the documentary, to be release in stores and on-line February 22, 2011 via world-wide distribution via, AWE/Taseis/W.E.A. distribution.

“Stubborn As A Mule!” discusses the ignorance, inequality, injustice, and immoral attitude of the majority of Americans toward African-American’s appeal for Reparations.  Since 1865, African Americans have been marching in a perennial struggle for equality and justice in a democratic nation that was forged in the pursuit of Liberty and Justice for all.”  But, somewhere along the line, the word “All” seemingly excluded the African-American race that laboriously helped build this nation through many atrocities and adversities.  Even in a technological age that has granted access via television and the internet into every arena of life, the majority of Americans still do not have any deeper insight into the injustices that a strong race of people endure.  Enlightenment can only come through a revelation of the truth.

As a result, “Stubborn As A Mule!” embarks on a journey to tell America the truth and enlighten them about the call for Reparations for African-Americans. "Stubborn As A Mule is a creative and courageous film I am proud to be a part of!" Dr. Cornel West.  With the help of such leading authorizes such as Dr. Cornel West (Princeton University), Dr. Robert St. Martin Westley (Tulane University), Dr. Preston T. King (Morehouse College), Dr. Charles Elmore (Savannah State University), and Dr. Na’im Akbar (Florida State University), “Stubborn As A Mule!” takes a serious look at the moral, legal, economic, and psychological issues that embody the fight for Reparations: a fight that expose the stubborn and dynamic attitude of white and black Americans.

Various estimates have been given if such payments were to be made. Harper’s Magazine has estimated that the total of reparations due is over 100 trillion dollars, based on 222,505,049 hours of forced labor between 1619 and 1865, with a compounded interest of 6%.  Should all or part of this amount be paid to the descendants of slaves in the United States, the current U.S. government would only pay a fraction of that cost, over 40 trillion dollars, since it has been in existence only since 1789.

Congressman John Conyers has been introducing a bill known as H.R. 40 since 1989.  H.R. 40 seeks to acknowledge the fundamental injustice, cruelty, brutality, and inhumanity of slavery in the United States and the 13 American colonies between 1619 and 1865.  It also seeks to establish a commission to examine the institution of slavery, subsequently de jure and de facto racial and economic discrimination against African-Americans, and the impact of these forces on living African-Americans, in order to make recommendations to the Congress on appropriate remedies, and for other purposes.
