"As a pilot, I view the PiperJet Altaire as one of most attractive airplanes ever designed," said Airplanista Editor and private pilot Dan Pimentel. "As a journalist, I wanted to find out how the Altaire design team created such a good looking and even sexy jet. When I interviewed Simon Atwill, their Team Leader, it became clear that his team takes aesthetics as serious as an artist. The comparison to a sculptor became clear as I researched the piece." The piece, entitled “The Artful Marriage of Form and Function” is a main feature of the magazine’s February issue. Also in the issue is a cover story that looks at Swedish photographer Claes Axstal and his Airborne Flash Photography system. A new column entitled “The Money Burger” is presented by Pacific Northwest Chef Stuart Stein and in this first column, Stein reviews the Flight Deck Restaurant at Salem, Oregon’s McNary Field.
