“Creative Hair Styling Academy has a wonderful reputation for developing very high quality graduates,” said Mario Tricoci, founder of Tricoci University of Beauty Culture. “My salons have hired many of Creative’s graduates over the years, and they thrived due to their experiences at the school.”
Located 20 miles outside of Chicago, Creative Hair Styling Academy has been a cornerstone in the Highland community for more than 40 years. Creative, under the long-term leadership of Debbie Marias, has established a strong reputation in the industry by offering comprehensive cosmetology and esthetics programs.
“In addition to owning the school for 17 years, I was also a graduate of Creative, so selling was a difficult decision to make,” said Marias, who will continue to run the campus and also provide executive capacity for TUBC. “But due to the similarities in our approach, with the emphasis on developing true professionals, I knew that the combination of Creative and TUBC would lead to an even better education for our students.”
Creative Hair Styling Academy will be integrated into the Tricoci University system and will eventually transition to using the TUBC curriculum and brand. TUBC develops the most “salon-ready”
“We are thrilled to combine forces with Debbie and Creative. In addition to building a significant presence in Indiana, we plan to expand the Tricoci University brand in several states within the next few years,” said Brian Weed, CEO of TUBC. “The acquisition of Creative is an important step in the growth of the Tricoci University brand.”
The news of interstate expansion comes on the heels of TUBC opening its newest Chicago location at 6458 N. Sheridan Road near the Loyola Red Line ‘L’ station. With the addition of the Creative Hair Styling Academy, Tricoci University now offers eight campuses throughout Illinois and northern Indiana.
