Feb. 2, 2011 - PRLog -- Autism Society Benefit and Kid Fest Sunday Feb. 13th 10-5pm--at Therapediatrics and Rainbow Play Systems  in Vernon Hills

VERNON HILLS, Ill. (Feb 2, 2011) "Have you seen the indoor playground at Rainbow Play Systems? It's huge and endless fun for the kids," asks Candice Kuhnen, event planner and one of the first mom's to host a birthday party at Rainbow Play Systems, Inc, in 1994.

Recently, Kuhnen met Linda Silver from Therapediatrics, only four minutes from Rainbow Play Systems, Inc. in Vernon Hills, and suggested that they have a get together and showcase their businesses. But we wanted to offer fun, fitness, education and make it a benefit.

Therapediatrics specializes in therapy for children with Autism and, therefore, they chose to do their benefit for The Autism Society.
Autism is a complex developmental disability and one in every 110 births in the United States, and almost one in 70 boys are affected. There are 1.5 million Americans living with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The Autism Society estimates that the lifetime cost of caring for a child with Autism ranges from $3.5 million to $5 million. Autism is treatable.

“We've created a fun event for everyone,” say Silver and Kuhnen . “We're starting at Therapediatrics, located at 200 N. Fairway Drive, Suite 208 in Vernon Hills. We have invited caterers who are kid friendly and will provide healthy foods. There will be  guest speakers who will talk about harmony in the family and other family related issues. Northbrook Body Brain Yoga and Tai Chi will talk about Yoga as stress relief for parents and caregivers. They will teach an easy and fun 5-minute stress relief routine for parents, caregivers, staff etc. to practice in the mornings or throughout the day whenever we need to rejuvenate more relaxed healthy & focused energy flow!"

“We invite everyone to view the therapy and gym rooms and meet the professional staff. Guest speakers will be offering timely educational seminars at both facilities. Therapediatrics will have a fashion show at 3 p.m., and silent auction winners will be announced at 4:30 p.m.
There will be a shuttle bus between Therapediatrics and Rainbow Play Systems or attendees can drive.

Rainbow Play Systems, Inc. is located at 300 Corporate Woods Drive in Vernon Hills and will have lots of activities for the children and a mini trade show which will include children's clothiers, educational programs, preschools, resorts, entertainers, health and wellness professionals and much more. Additionally, children and their parents can enjoy the supervised indoor playground with 18 models on display.

Both facilities will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $20 with 100 percent of the proceeds being collected by the Autism Society.

Here's a sneak preview of the items for silent auction: Rainbow Play Systems has donated a super sun castle with a step/chair ladder and can add a rock wall $6384 (retail value); Patch 22 Ltd is offering a package for a pony ride party $200 (value); Mosquito Net is offering to spray trees and bushes for an outdoor party $295 (value); The Painted Penguin is offering a party for 9 painters $150 (value); Chicagoland Water Conditioning is offering a filtration system $350 (value); The Amazing Chicago’s Funhouse Maze is offering four free admission tickets and The MagiQuest Chicago is offering a voucher for one free wand and 60 minutes of game time.$80(value) and more.

This is a fun family friendly event for a great cause and families can learn about the best kid businesses in the Chicagoland and Northern Suburbs.
Education, Entertainment, Fun and Fundraising all in one fun-filled day. Sunday Feb 13th, 10-5am.

We are asking for a charity donation of $20 and reservations can be made by calling 847-835-0126
