FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Feb. 2, 2011 - In 2010 Speereo Software Company – an owner of Speereo Speech Recognition (SSR) of English language – began a development of SSR for Russian language. Laboratory tests performed in St.Petersburg, Russia proved that SSR now recognizes Russian continuous speech. It is well known, that most difficult thing to recognize in speech – short voice signals, and numbers are best example of such. Speereo tests showed high level of numbers recognition.

Speech recognition market is full of miscellaneous solutions from Google, Microsoft, Nuance, etc. But there is no solution that would work only on mobile client, i.e. that would not consume a lot of system resources, and would not require internet connection with a remote server to perform speech recognition. Popular and well-advertised speech recognition system from Google works as a client-server solution, i.e. voice signal is sent from mobile device to Google servers where it is recognized and sent back as a command (in this case as a search string).

Speereo Software Company is planning to perfect and enrich Russian Speereo Speech Recognition. Fist step has been taken – street names are already recognized by Russian SSR. Such step has been taken in order to advance into an automotive industry with ready for use solution.
Successful launch of an additional and complex language into SSR is the first step of SSR enhancement. Later on additional languages are to come: European and Asian.

INFORMATION:

From January 2011 SSR is a fully multilingual solution and supports Russian and English languages.
