"Romantic Fools" Video Contest – Call For Entries

WHEN:
Deadline for submissions: Tuesday, February 15, 2011

In conjunction with the opening of its newest show, the Cameo Theatre is now accepting entries in a video contest celebrating the theme of "Romantic Fools".

Written by Rich Orloff and directed by Dave Cortez, "Romantic Fools" explores the ups, downs, and in-betweens of love and relationships in a series of comedic vignettes, with actors Robert Jerdee and Nikki Young playing more than 10 characters each.  “Most of us, at one point or another, know what it’s like to be 'Romantic Fools',” explains Cortez, “so we thought it would be a great opportunity for filmmakers to join in the fun and submit their own interpretation of the concept of 'Romantic Fools'.  The best films will be screened during the play in between the vignettes, so the filmmakers have a chance to be part of the show.”

“Movies are an important part of the Cameo’s history,” says Jim Zaccaria.  “When it was built in 1940, it was made for movies as well as live performances.”  In 2010, the Cameo hosted the San Antonio 48 Hour Film Project.  “Working on the 48 Hour screenings, and with filmmakers on 'Romantic Fools', really takes us back to the Cameo’s roots in San Antonio’s film scene.”

Films must be no longer than one (1) minute, and must be on DVD.  All submissions must be delivered in person, no later than Tuesday, February 15, to:

Cameo Theatre
1123 East Commerce Street
San Antonio, TX  78205

"Romantic Fools" opens at the Cameo Theatre on Friday, February 25, and will run through Sunday, March 13.
