Feb. 1, 2011 - An Antique German 800/1000 Silver Figural Bride Marriage Cup ornately engraved with a fruit and flowers design on the larger cup- which is formed as the skirt of the bride. The smaller cup- held aloft by the arms of the bride- is positioned on a swinging hinge and is engraved with a decorative lattice design. These two cups- the larger for the man and smaller for the woman- were used to celebrate their union. The cup was passed to each and the hinged smaller cup allowed for it to drunk by both. German. Circa 1900. Fully Hallmarked. 10.7 Troy Ounces. Very Good Weight. Height- 8 inches.
