Follow on Google News | Is this the prime time of year for pet abuse and abandonment?Everyone has heard the phrase ‘a dog is for life, not just for Christmas’ however each year the phrase gets truer and truer as this time of year sees the largest spike for animal abandonment and cruelty.
By: Compare Marketing Ltd Shockingly, it is not only the levels of abandonment that has been in the news; a pet cat found in Mansfield was recently discovered having been sliced in half causing great devastation to the pet’s owner. Only the top part of the body was discovered and then taken to a local vet. Although a representative for the RSPCA said they could not confirm this was done deliberately, the vet who received the severed cat at his surgery confirmed another animal or car did not cause the injuries. Although this is a horrific case of animal cruelty, it should be remembered this is just one of many cases. Although it is difficult to prove an owner has abandoned their pet anyone that is found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal can be fined twenty thousand pounds or face a maximum six month prison sentence. Many would argue these punishments are not harsh enough. http://www.vetscompare.com/ http://www.dentistscompare.com/ http://www.lawyerscompare.com/ # # # Compare Marketing Ltd run a series of online professional comparison websites; http://www.vetscompare.com/ http://www.dentistscompare.com/ http://www.lawyerscompare.com/ http://www.accountantscompare.com/ End
