PRLog (Press Release) - Feb. 1, 2011 - Colombo has been attracting many Greek owners during the second half of year 2010, on the good track record the owners automatic choice was Colombo Dockyard for their repairs.
The owners stemmed the drydocking repairs to Colombo Dockyard looking at the strategic location of the yard, giving minimal diversion from vessels trading route and our competitive pricing. The vessel was calling Colombo, to discharge her last cargo, the yard located inside the port of Colombo, there was minimal diversion, as the vessel was accommodate at yard berth soon after she completed her discharging.
The repair scope consisted of routine drydocking related repairs, extensive repairs on hatch covers, shell guide repairs, overhauling of governors. The yards production teams worked tirelessly to meet the stringent deadlines and re-deliver the vessel on schedule to the owners.
      During the drydocking call the owner’s interests were looked after by the attending superintendent Engineer Mr. Ionnis Vannas. The classification society Germanischer Lloyd represented in Sri Lanka requirements were also met by the yard during this call.    
The vessel was accommodated at alongside repair berth on arrival and subsequently accommodated in drydock No. 04. , she loaded in Colombo soon after completing her repairs in the yard. The Local Agents –J B S Shipping Ltd.,provided the necessary husbanding services for the vessel during her stay in Colombo efficiently.
