Dr. Steve Morrison has just opened Parker's first urgent care clinic, filling a void that has existed for some time in the Parker community.

What is a Family Doctor?
A family doctor is a physician who has completed formal education and training in family practice. Family doctors treat acute and chronic illnesses, create health awareness for all age groups, take care of hospitalized patients, perform surgery, attend deliveries, as well as deal with common problems like the common cold. As part of the residency, the family doctor is taught how to treat an individual throughout life.
In the United States, in contrast to a general practitioner, a family doctor needs to complete a residency period of three years in family medicine. This is apart from undergraduate and doctoral studies that make a physician eligible for certification by The American Board of Family Medicine.
Today, family doctors are expected to augment their skill and knowledge base through constant learning and attending competency tests. They can also take additional qualification in various fields of medicine.
One of the benefits of having a family doctor is their willingness to listen, their expertise in your own unique needs, and their ability to understand how all the different medical sub-fields relate to each other. They can be considered a holistic health practitioner with regards to you. They can often play counselor for basic psychological needs, and are able to refer youo to an expert whenever the need arises.
The other benefit to a family doctor is that he or she is aware of your family health history, as well as the health needs of your immediate family. This way, they can recommend and administer treatments to your entire family as a system

Dr. Steve Morrison, D.O.
Dr. Steve Morrison grew up in Snohomish, Washington, just outside Seattle. He obtained his undergraduate degrees in Cellular Biology and Spanish from the University of Washington, where he lettered in football as a wide receiver.
Steve attended medical school in southern California at the Western University of Health Sciences of the Pacific, and completed his residency at the University of Southern California. It was while he was working at LA County Hospital that he met his future wife, Julie, who was studying dental hygiene at USC. They met on a blind date, and were married a year later.
After they both graduated in 2003, they moved to Colorado. They now live in Parker with their three children. They love spending time with their kids riding bikes, skiing, fishing, and enjoying all that Colorado has to offer.

David M. Graves SA, PA-C
David M.Graves grew up in Colorado. He attended several colleges while competing in gymnastics. He obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Northern Colorado. David attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham Surgical/Physician Assistant program.
After graduating in 1994, David started working in a small rural hospital in Ruidoso, New Mexico, covering the Emergency room. Since then, he has been practicing in emergency medicine, urgent care, and occupational medicine. David also spent 3 years working with orthopedic surgeons, specializing in sports injuries.
Prior to getting certified as a Physician Assistant, he spent ten years living in California performing stunts for film and television. He continues working as a stuntman in the film industry on a part time basis. David and his wife Rebekah(who is an ICU RN) and two daughters moved to Parker in August of 2007.

Services We Provide

We are pleased to be able to serve Parker as both an urgent care as well as a family medicine clinic. We provide a myriad of services to get you well and keep you healthy.

As an urgent care clinic, we diagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries as well as sports injuries. We have a digital x-ray unit on-site and trained staff who know how to take the x-rays as well as interpret them. We can do all kinds of procedures including IV's, suturing, joint injections and aspirations, ingrown toenail repair, pregnancy tests, biopsies, and many other test and procedures.

As a family medicine clinic we manage and treat chronic medical conditions, i.e.: diabetes, high blood pressure and elevated cholesterol as well as most other conditions that require close follow up. We also make it a top priority to focus on preventative health care by reviewing with our patients, at each age appropriate visit, the need for things like mammograms, pelvic exams, prostate evaluations, and colonscopy.

We provide services for well child checks, well woman exams, school and sports physicals and can perform simple lab tests in-house or send the labs out when necessary. We have state-of-the-art electronic medical records, which have been shown to improve medical management and decision-making and are able to easily refer patients to specialists for additional evaluations.

For ugent care visits there is no appointment necessary. For family medicine visits we ask that you make an appointment, being seen the same day in most cases, to serve you better.

You will find our staff and clinic to be very warm and friendly and hope that you will feel comfortable and should the need arise, come back to see us.
