ABI has some new and exciting news for 2010. We have recently undergone a management change, and we are making big plans in order to create an even better experience for our travelers this coming season. Here are some of the new practices we have in effect. We’ve upgraded our internet bandwidth to better help travelers load all those photos they’ve picked up along the way. Striving to better our high cleanliness standards we now have dedicated staff cleaning daily. We’ve tightened security to make all those solo-travelers more comfortable. We have installed video surveillance throughout the whole building. Private rooms now offer cable TV and micro fridges. 2 share rooms have micro-fridges as well.

Alaska Backpackers Inn has a load of extras avaliable from the regulars you normally expect to find in a hostel right through to things you never even thought to expect.

The question on everyone’s lips is how much to stay at such a spectacular downtown hostel. The bad news is we’re not free. The good news is that we are about one tenth the price of most downtown accommodations but we are 110% on service!

Our dorm rooms begin at:
25 dollars per person per night

Private rooms begin at:
50 dollars per room for a single

60 dollars per room for a double.

Alaska Backpackers Inn Check in Policy

Summer Front Desk Hours Are:

7:30 am to 2:30pm and

4:00 pm to 2:00 am

7 Days a week

Check out: 11am

Check in: 4pm

24 hour a day card key security access for your convenience

We do have a locked storage area so feel free to drop your bags off prior to the 4pm check in time.

We do not have a lock out time but we do detail the building from noon to 4pm everyday. So please enjoy the building and support the staff’s goal to provide a healthy, safe, clean hostel by limiting your use of the building during those hours.

If you need to check in later than 2am, please make special arrangements with our staff ahead of time by calling. We do not guarantee access to the building after 2am.

Great hostel! Would most definitely recommed! Fantastic location, close to transport, outdoor activities AND nightlife. The hostel itself is comfortable, clean and well run. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Theres laundry for a reasonable price, a kitchen, a games/living room (with awesome couches and a huge tv), a reading room and internet on site. This hostel provides everything a traveller would need and more!

LOVED THE PLACE. What I loved the most is, how inexpensive it was for such a Great atmospheric place. On top of that, it was cleaner then I ever expected for any Hostel to be. As a matter of fact it was cleaner then most upscale hotels that I have stayed in. The staff was very helpful in giving me ideas as where to eat and go have a drink. I was really happy with my stay.

Highly recommended, will return for future travel.

Very clean bathrooms and huge, clean kitchen. The showers had perfect shower pressure and temperature.
