Feb. 1, 2011 - PRLog -- ATLANTA, Ga. —— DHL Logistics, the world’s largest global logistics and freight forwarding provider, and StarPound Technologies announced today the implementation of a customized instance of the award winning StarPound software platform to augment and enhance DHL’s service offerings for its North American critical-parts customer base. StarPound’s open platform is enabling DHL to unify information from a variety of sources to streamline key business processes, and to proactively communicate-enable those business processes using Voice over IP Technology — resulting in lower internal costs, better adherence to service level agreements around freight delivery, and a higher degree of customer service.

“Partnering with StarPound Technologies provided us with a unique nexus of technologies, which we simply couldn’t find with any other vendor.” said Mr. Douglas Ingram, Manager of Process Engineering for DHL Solutions Americas.  “The resulting solution gives us the capability to bring together vast amounts of information together within our workflows, and to directly impact our ability to deliver value to our customers.  It’s the sort of efficiency you routinely hope for with software solutions, but one that is rarely actually achieved.”

“From the outset, the StarPound team realized that our software platform could address some enormously complex business problems.” said Robert Shoe, Vice President of StarPound Technologies. “The field of global logistics presents a series of unique challenges for players in the space. Leveraging the flexibility of our software platform, we were able to very quickly deliver a customized solution to the DHL team, and one that drove business and financial value from day one. Our goal is to deliver the right information, to the right person, at the right time.  With our unique blend of voice, data, business process modeling, and workflow management, we can reduce development efforts, get to market faster, and then easily achieve scalability using our on-demand cloud-based delivery model.”

By using StarPound’s Studio product to model and deploy the unique business process requirements presented by DHL, StarPound fundamentally created a system that not only improved the efficiency of those processes, but also tracks each and every aspect of a transaction. “DHL is a perfect example of a complex company that is able to achieve an almost unimaginable return on their deployment of our product.”, added Mr. Shoe. “They are a large enterprise, with lots of data, and lots of touchpoints within any given business process. DHL also has a critical need to ensure that all processes are in compliance with regulatory agencies. We take great pride in the fact that we were able to bring this solution to life for DHL, and very quickly see the impact on their bottom line.”

Ingram, a veteran of DHL’s Logistics group concurred, “StarPound’s software platform gave us a tremendous boost in terms of our technology arsenal. It made our business operate better, and enhanced our revenue position at the same time.”
