Table Tennis Nation Nominated for a 2011 Edison Award

Jan. 31, 2011 - PRLog -- NEW YORK, NY - Table Tennis Nation, the brainchild of 23-time National and International ping pong champion Marty Reisman, has been nominated for a 2011 Edison Best New Product Award.

Each year, the Edison Awards honor innovation in the development and launch of new products in various categories, and in 2011 the Steering Committee has recognized the innovative efforts of Table Tennis Nation.

"Our paddles allow the world's most democratic game to be even more accessible to players of all abilities and our Brawl format makes every match even more strategic," said Reisman, President of Table Tennis Nation.

The Table Tennis Nation paddles are designed to be easier to play with due to their unique design features such as an oversized paddle face and dual core design.

Table Tennis Nation's signature event, the Brawl, is a 3-on-3 match with a 2-point ball that encourages teamwork and strategy.

"We've taken the world's most played sport and made it incredibly social. One on one ping pong is great, but once you've experienced the fun of playing with a team, it is really tough to go back," said Cooper Fallek, Chief Operating Officer. Table Tennis Nation's ability to innovate in the table tennis sphere caught the attention of the Edison Awards Steering Committee who review the nominees to determine the Best New Products.

In addition to regular tournaments, Table Tennis Nation has promoted the sport by way of its website, with its integrated social network, and its 2011 Tournament of Champions which will feature a $10,000 grand prize, the largest prize for an amateur-only event in history.

The Edison Awards were established in 1987 to honor Thomas Edison’s wide-ranging contributions to technology and consumer products, as well as to inspire continued innovation in our country. The prestigious award is the most coveted innovation awards each year.
