Oriel is already busy responding to requests for solar hot water systems sparked by the announcement of a new state rebate through the Commonwealth Solar II program. “Normally winter is a slow time for solar installers. We just haven’t slowed down,” says Oriel. He adds, “There seems to be enormous interest in a solar investment for five or six thousand dollars that can produce up to 75% of your hot water usage.”
Prior to joining New England Breeze Solar, Oriel owned his own company, Sugar Maple Solar, where he installed and repaired solar water heating systems throughout Massachusetts. Oriel is also active in his hometown as a member of the Berlin Fire Department. Oriel has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University and began his career in the solar industry in 2004. Of his new company Oriel says, “I’m happy to be working with the folks at New England Breeze Solar. We share the same vision: that each of us can make an impact on our community and our environment by harnessing renewable energy sources.”
