Jan. 31, 2011 - PRLog -- The third Future of Wireless International Conference from 27 – 28 June 2011 in Cambridge will focus on the theme of ‘Networks under Stress’. Organised by Cambridge Wireless – the leading independent wireless business and technology community – the conference will address stress issues for mobile networks, resulting from the phenomenal success and growth of mobile broadband services. Under the acronym of C.R.A.S.H. – Capacity, Resilience, Accessibility, Security and High-expectations, technical and commercial issues will be explored such as the need to restructure value chains and reinvent wireless business models, as well as considerations for the planning and provisioning of major events that put networks under stress including 2012.

Cambridge Wireless has announced an impressive line-up of keynote speakers from industry and academia that includes Enrico Salvatori, Senior VP and President, QCT Europe; Matthew Postgate, Controller BBC Research & Development; KanwarChadha, Chief Marketing Officer, Cambridge Silicon Radio; Andy Sutton, Principal Architect Network, Everything Everywhere; Professor Ed Candy from Three; Mike Walker, Vodafone Fellow and Executive Technical Advisor; Myles MacBean, Vice President & General Manager, Disney Online at Disney EMEA; and Donna Bethea Murphy, VP of Regulatory Engineering, Iridium.

Along with the keynotes, the 2011 Future of Wireless Conference includes hands-on workshops, facilitated brainstorms, panels, business matching, exhibition zones and the innovation hothouse, which will provide wireless start-ups with a pitching platform.

“The phenomenal growth in the adoption of connected data-rich devices creates many opportunities to enhance people’s lives in profound ways,” said Peter Whale, board member of Cambridge Wireless and director of Product Management for Qualcomm. “At the same time, it is critical that within our industry we correctly understand and successfully manage key stress points emerging from this rapid growth, ensuring continued focus on innovation and investment to expand access to mobile broadband services globally.”

The 2011 Future of Wireless International Conference at St John’s College Cambridge will build on the success of last year’s event that attracted over 300 delegates, sponsors and exhibitors representing every part of the wireless value chain. “The conference is designed to provide a dynamic environment for delegates to share and gain insight into the future of the mobile and wireless marketplace, as well as shaping an integrated view of the industry as a whole,” said David Cleevely, chairman of Cambridge Wireless. “The event continues to grow year on year and attract high level speakers and delegates from around the world.”
