Mike Burton started doing stand-up comedy in 1996; first performing in the clubs in New York City and then hitting the road. Burton has entertained audiences all over the country with his high-energy act and material that ranges from marriage to computer skills to shaking hands. Having grown up in North Carolina, but now living in New York City, he has the southern roots that make him hospitable and enough New York attitude to give him an edge. Burton’s show is part of The Clinton County Comedy Tour with John Garrett. Garrett is a 1994 graduate of Wesclin High School and professional touring comedian that currently lives in New York City. He has been heard on The Bob & Tom Radio Show and is a regular guest on Clinton County radio stations. His unique brand of “adorably obnoxious” comedy has made him a favorite from New York to LA. There is also a show Friday, February 18th at Trenton House in Trenton and an earlier show on Saturday, February 19th at V&H in Breese. Tickets may be purchased at each venue for $10 in advance or $15 day of show.
This will be the 15th Clinton County Comedy Tour. The event started as a way for Garrett to bring his comedy friends to Clinton County. "The idea every time is everyone wins," he said. "The tickets are cheaper than a comedy club, the venues get new customers, and the comedians have fun making everyone laugh." Past performers include comedians that have performed on The Late Show with David Letterman, NBC's Last Comic Standing, The Bob & Tom Radio Show, and Fox's FrankTV.
