Feb. 1, 2011 - PRLog -- Spartanburg- The Sunshine House on Reidville Road in Spartanburg will hold a child safety event Tuesday, February 22 and February 24, 2011. On Tuesday, children will participate in an award-winning presentation developed in partnership with John Walsh of America's Most Wanted and Julie Clark of Baby Einstein. The seminar on stranger safety is a proactive approach to keeping kids safe. According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a child is reported missing every 40 seconds. On Thursday, parents have the opportunity in conjunction with the center's Pancake Palooza celebration to secure a Child ID package to keep on hand in case of an emergency. Law enforcement recommends parents having regularly updated printed and electronic identification on hand because the first 3 hours in a missing child case is crucial for their safe return and yet it takes more than 2 hours to gather accurate and complete information from an unprepared and panicked parent.

Lisa Southard, director of The Sunshine House on Reidville Road, chose Guard-A-Kid Child ID Systems for the event for their passion, their comprehensive and affordable Child ID package, and their proactive approach to keeping kids safe. Guard-A-Kid's Child ID package is the most complete available. It is more than a picture, a print, and a card. Todd Cromer, owner of Guard-A-Kid and safety specialist, says that participating children will be photographed, have all ten fingerprints digitally captured, then measured and weighed in order to produce a package for their parents that includes two laminated wallet IDs, a file ID, a CD-ROM with additional safety resources and the ID information in electronic form, along with Mobile Child ID, which enables parents to carry and transfer information with their phones when they most need it. Cromer says that participating parents will be prepared and have peace of mind.

Cromer also commends Ms. Southard and the rest of the staff at The Sunshine House for their concern for their families' welfare and peace of mind and for their conscientiousness regarding the importance of being proactive and prepared.

The Sunshine House is located at 3030 Reidville Road. To sign up for the event or for more informaton on The Sunshine House's services call (864) 574-1013.
