Wilkus Architects Announces the Opening of 331 Express Bar and Grill.

Jan. 27, 2011 - PRLog -- 331 Express Bar and Grill has opened in the Rochester, MN International Airport.  Wilkus Architects provided restaurant design services with assistance of TSP, Inc. acting as the architect/engineer of record.  The 2500 square foot restaurant is presented with simple organic materials with glass and angular grid walls to create visibility while keeping separation that is required by enhanced security required in airports today. Simple wooden tables, exposed hanging fixtures and historic aircraft images complete this stunning work.
"Atmosphere is often as important as the food", says design architect Duane Perry, AIA of Wilkus Architects.

The facility is owned by the airport commission and operated under contract by local restaurant owners Jimmy and Tommy Karabatsos, of the 331 Bar and Grill, Rochester, MN.  The restaurant is open 7 days a week with operating hours from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Rochester International Airport is owned by the City of Rochester and operated by the Rochester Airport Company. Rochester International Airport is a Class I, Part 139 FAA certificated commercial service airport, with more than 320,000 passengers annually.  Rochester International Airport is classified as an Index B airport for Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) Services as required under 14 CFR Part 139. RST ARFF services are available from 5:30am to 11:00pm, 7 days per week to accommodate air carrier operations.
