The design solution tackled environment issues face on by re-utilizing almost all of the existing components in use and enveloping the existing structure in recycled plastic to create the new and exciting display structure.
Using creative point of sale and communication devices Space Projects have devised a flexible method of indicating 5 differentiated lifestyle product zones within each showroom.
Illuminated totems provide satellite core for each zone, the totems being clearly visible across the showroom, add colour, texture, light, excitement and order to the sales environment. These zonal statements are reinforced by the innovative use of colour and texture on graphic carriers around the vehicles.
Appointed lead design consultants / design guardians for Toyota (GB) Plc in 2001 and continuing this role to the present day their nationwide role involves all aspects of Toyota’s showroom design and project implementation within the UK from concept design of all new centre’s and interior brand development to the re-designing and refurbishment of all existing centre’s.
The success of Space Projects design and implementation operation emanates from operating a tight team of designers and consultants, all with a “total” all-round skill base. If a designer can draw the scheme, they can project manage, cost control, and implement the process from start to finish. The approach closes possible gaps in communication between designer, other directly appointed consultants, main contractors, and suppliers. The result is a seamless process, delivering contracts on time and to budget.
With the proof being in the “eating” of the “contract pie” and despite the rather large logistical issue of both stripping out and re-installation of an existing systems the nationwide programme both started and completed on schedule.
