Longer face of Ping G10 Fairway Wood Review

Jan. 25, 2011 - PRLog -- The Ping G10 Fairway Woods are engineered with a crown, that directly intersects the sole to create a low profile head that combines with a long, shallow face for improved performance from all types of lies. The face area is wider from heel-to-toe which allows for an increased effective hitting area, making the G10 incredibly forgiving and consistent.

The intersection of the crown and sole results in a skirt-less design which allowed PING engineers to reposition discretionary weight from the crown, face and hosel for a lower center of gravity location. A weight pad allows for the low CG location and provides higher ball velocity and reduced spin.

The G10 is basically a better version of the G5. It features a slightly higher MOI, promotes faster ball speed and a lot less spin than its big brother. This equates to not only longer and higher shots, but more forgiving ones as well. The shafts are a nice touch as well, Ping did a nice job making them a little heavier than in the past to keep a smoother tempo and more feel though the swing, and unlike in the driver, they were able to keep the lengths of these clubs fairly standard!
