NJ CPA Participates in Seton Hall Business School Senior Accounting Assessment

Jan. 26, 2011 - PRLog -- NJ CPA Nick Magone, managing partner of NJ accounting firm Magone & Company, recently had the opportunity to return to his alma mater, Seton Hall University, to contribute to the Department of Accounting and Taxation’s semester-ending Accounting Assessment for students in the Stillman School of Business.

During the event, senior accounting students present a financial accounting case to a panel of practicing professionals in the fields of accounting and finance. Magone joined fellow panelists Jonathan Stout, CPA, director of financial planning & analysis for Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Mark P. Holtzman, chair of the department of accounting and taxation and an associate professor of accounting for the university. Holtzman was also the coordinator of the two-hour program.

Says Holtzman, “Accounting Assessment is an important part of continuous improvement for our programs.  We use the information from our professional reviewers to make changes to our program, and especially to improve our curriculum.”

Magone is a frequent visitor to the South Orange campus, volunteering his time and professional expertise to student and administration causes alike. He currently sits on the university’s Presidential Advisory Committee. Says Magone, “People made the investment in me when I was a student. That’s why I feel it’s so important to give back, to extend that same help to today’s students.”
