He lives in Mrs. Button’s garden, and his greed is causing considerable damage to her vegetables and flowers. Despite the best efforts by Mrs. Button, her dog Katcha, and cat Magnus to catch Gordon, the grasshopper continues to wreck the plants in her prize-winning garden.

During a visit to Mrs. Button’s friend, Mrs. Edge, a plan is hatched to catch Gordon. Mrs. Button borrows a trap, which is baited with Mrs. Button’s very own prize lettuce to tempt Gordon.

Do they catch Gordon? What happens to him then? Can he become a star performer in a circus, wearing a bright red sequined jacket? Did Mrs. Button manage to save her lettuce, and win a prize with it?
