Jan. 24, 2011 - PRLog -- The new Jeep Grand Cherokee has undergone a complete makeover with new features to freshen its appearance. Although the new design is a bit less blocky than previous models, it still has the classic seven-slot grille offered by Jeep.

A powerful 3.6-liter V6 engine that delivers an impressive 290-horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque is new and also standard on all 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee models. Optional on Laredo, Limited and Overland models is a 5.7-liter V8 engine, an engine carried over from the 2010 model. The 5.7-liter V8 engine produces 360-horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. Both engines come with five-speed automatic transmissions.


The newly redesigned 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee is spacious inside and provides 35.1 cubic feet of space with all seats in use and a total of 68.7 cubic feet with the second row folded down.

The based Grand Cherokee Laredo E offers luxury interior features including Sirius satellite radio, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, a power-adjustable driver seat and a tilt/telescoping steering column. Features such as an automatic dual-zone temperature control, heated front seats and power passenger seats are available on the Laredo X.

For entertainment purposes, the Grand Cherokee offers a SIRIUS Backseat TV that comes with the Rear DVD Entertainment Center. The Rear DVD Entertainment Center includes a rear-seat video system that allows you to play two different DVDs on two screens. The system is only optional on Limited and Overland models and the package comes with a year of SIRIUS TV service.

Standard safety features of the all new 2011 Grand Cherokee include the following: electronic stability control with brake assist, enhanced accident response, hill descent control, hill start assist, supplemental side curtain front/rear airbags and a supplemental front seat side air bags.

Advanced Warning System with Adaptive Cruise Control is a new safety feature that warns the driver if he or she is approaching the car in front too quickly. This feature is optional on only Limited and Overland models. Also available are a Parksense Rear Park Assist system and ParkView Rear Back-Up Camera. Both are standard on all but the base Laredo E model.
