The Business Wonder Woman of the Year Award

The Wonder Women Network is a new web-based network championing the business wonder women of SE London. This month sees the launch of it's Business Wonder Woman of the Year Award.

Jan. 24, 2011 - PRLog -- The Wonder Women Network has just launched it’s first-ever ‘Business Wonder Woman of the Year Award’. The network, which champions and promotes the business wonder women of Greenwich & Blackheath in SE London, is keen to reward the local community’s favourite business woman with a much-deserved prize.

The winner of the award, will not only receive the prestigious title (!), but will win a years’ free membership to The Wonder Women Network. If the winner is already a member, their prize will be a Social Media Marketing Package AND a Press Release package (worth £55), details of which are all on the website (www.thewonderwomennetwork.co.uk).

The Wonder Women Network, launched in October of last year, is a web-based network for local women. Its flagship website focuses on the women of Greenwich & Blackheath, however founder, Natalie Strong, a former television director of Grand Designs, House Doctor and Escape to the Country, already has plans to roll the business out across the country.

The aim of the website is to raise the profile of local business wonder women, to offer inspiration to wannabe ‘women-preneurs’ and to let locals know what’s happening on their doorstep.  Another unique feature of the network is its Wonder Card: a discount card available free to its subscribers, giving exclusive access to special offers from local businesses.

Subscription is free, however business women can benefit from signing up for annual membership. For this, Natalie will write you a 400-word business profile, publish it on the website, duplicate it on LinkedIn and in one of her e-newsletters and promote you via Twitter and Facebook. She also offers additional social media marketing and press releases services.

So what was the inspiration behind the network? Natalie explains: “When my daughter started school three years ago, I felt a new sense of community. I got involved with the school’s PTA and around the same time, started going to Running Mummies in Greenwich Park.  I’ve been overwhelmed by the sheer number of super-talented mums I meet each week, who not only look after their children and run their homes (not to mention the odd 10k charity race), but are successfully managing a new business. I want everyone to know how amazing they all are and what they are offering”.

The network is already living up to her  name “it’s really going strong, with just under thirty local business women members and almost 200 subscribers …and growing”.  In Facebook terms, this may seem like small fry, but for a new network, aimed at women running small businesses in the modest enclave of Greenwich and Blackheath, this is an exciting start.

To support the network and your top local business woman, vote now by visiting the website and filling in the Subscribe to the Newsletter/Vote page. Eligible winners don’t necessarily need to live in Greenwich or Blackheath, but they must operate at least one part of their business in these areas. The closing date is 31st March and the winner will be announced on 1st April.

Several lucky voters chosen at random, will receive a fantastic prize, donated by existing Wonder Women, including Julia Marsen from Ottie & The Bea, Ellie, Michelle & Rebecca of Running Mummies, Debbie Joyce from The Enchanted Cakebox and Laura Sydonie of Theatre Tots.

To subscribe (for free), or become a member, visit www.thewonderwomennetwork.co.uk or email Natalie directly at natalie@thewonderwomennetwork.co.uk.
